What is Hazardous Waste:
According to the EPA, Household Hazardous Waste
is “Leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive
ingredients are considered to be household hazardous waste (HHW). Products, such as
paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, and pesticides that contain potentially hazardous
ingredients require special care when you dispose of them.”

Where Can I Drop it off:
The City of Rio Vista has 2 HHW days a year. In 2016;
the 1st HHW day is:
April 23, from 9 am to 1 pm at 789 St. Francis Way in Rio Vista.
the 2nd HHW day is:
October 8, from 9 am to 1 pm at 789 St. Francis Way in Rio Vista.
Any residential resident who pays garbage invoices from Rio Vista Sanitation Service. Note: *Any other resident will be required to pay a minimum of $15.

If you have Household Hazardous Waste that cannot be stored until the 2 city events, please bring the items to Devlin Road Transfer Station in American Canyon.
